Hi, I’m Sophie! I am a final-year PhD candidate in Computer Science at the University of Wisconsin—Madison, where I am advised by Professor Rahul Chatterjee. Here, I am on the leadership team of the Madison Tech Clinic, which provides direct service to survivors of technology-facilitated abuse across Wisconsin. I am also an incoming Assistant Professor of Computer Science and Engineering at UT Arlington, starting Fall 2026.

I research interpersonal security & privacy (S&P). Through qualitative and system-building methods, I seek to (i) combat technology-facilitated abuse, hate, and harassment and (ii) support digital safety and privacy within interpersonal relationships.

I publish in top S&P and HCI venues including USENIX Security, ACM CHI, ACM CSCW, and IEEE S&P, and have earned paper awards at CHI and CSCW. I am also an alumna of the 12th Heidelberg Laureate Forum.
